PRESS RELEASE
HEALTH FACILITIES REGULATORY AGENCY COMMISSIONS NEW VEHICLES AND MOTORBIKES FOR REGIONAL OFFICES
The Registrar of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency, Dr Philip Bannor commissioned two newly procured Peugeot pickup trucks and Motorbikes on 21 May 2020. These vehicles and motorbikes are to be used by the Regional Offices of the Agency in the Northern, Ashanti, Western, and Greater Accra Regions to facilitate the work of the Agency in effectively carrying out its mandate.
The Health Facilities Regulatory Agency was established by the Health Institutions and Facilities Act 2011, Act 829 to licence and monitor facilities for the provision of quality public and private health care services.
One of the major challenges faced by the Agency is inadequate logistics including limited means of transport to aid field activities such as inspection, monitoring, and enforcement. The procurement of these vehicles will augment the limited transportation logistics of the Agency in a significant manner.
The Registrar and the rest of the Management team of the Agency are proud of this milestone and are working tirelessly to ensure that all health facilities are licensed and are in compliance with the set standards to ensure they deliver quality and safe health care to all people who patronize their services.
