CLAMPED DOWN ON HEALTH FACILITIES

The Management of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA) would like to announce to its clients, stakeholders and the general public about the closure of the Obengfo Hospital, Susan Clinic, China Recovery Clinic and Grace Diagnostic Centre located in the Greater Accra Region for operating without the requisite licence.

This exercise, which took place on Friday, 29th January, 2021, is a step up in the enforcement efforts of the Agency in line with its mandate as prescribed in Section 11 of the Health Institutions and Facilities ACT 829, 2011 which states that:

  1. A person shall not operate a facility unless the facility is licensed under this Act.
  2. A person shall not operate equipment in a facility specified in the First Schedule unless the facility in which the person operates is licensed under this Act.

The Management of HeFRA would like to assure clients, stakeholders and the general public of its commitment towards ensuring health facilities within the country operate in compliance with the set standards and in the public interest.

The general public is therefore cautioned to desist from patronizing the services of any unlicensed facility as they do so at their own risk. For the avoidance of doubt, kindly visit our website http://hefra.gov.gh/index.php/licensed-facilities/ to access the updated list of licenced health facilities or contact the Agency on 0302900995.
