Overview

The Licensing Department at HeFRA is responsible for regulating the entry and continued operation of health facilities across Ghana. Through a structured licensing process, the department ensures that all facilities meet the required standards for quality, safety, and legal compliance. It plays a pivotal role in safeguarding public health by enforcing regulatory protocols and promoting accountability within the healthcare sector.

Units

Registration Unit

Manages the intake and documentation of health facility applications. This unit verifies eligibility, collects relevant data, and maintains a comprehensive registry of all licensed facilities nationwide.

Inspection Unit

Conducts routine and special inspections to assess compliance with operational standards. The unit evaluates infrastructure, staffing, equipment, and service delivery to ensure facilities meet regulatory benchmarks before and after licensing.

License Unit

Processes the issuance, renewal, suspension, and revocation of licenses. It ensures that only qualified and compliant facilities are granted legal authorization to operate and maintains records of licensing status across the country.
